Parliament debates the budget – in brief

The members of the House of Representatives today and tomorrow ill be debating, in brief, the budget estimates presented by Minister for Finance Edward Scicluna yesterday. The budget was substantially the same as that presented last year by the preceding administration but which  failed to pass due to a dissenting MP.  In a historical vote, the budget was passed nem com, no one against, yesterday, in site of the fact that in December, the opposition felt that it could not take this position. The discussions on the ministries are taking place in an abbreviated format and the votes on the ministries will be taken later.
