At least 38 people died after a coach plunged off a flyover in Avellino, southern Italy.
Media sources are claiming that another ten people are in danger of dying; most of the persons on board were people returning from a pilgrimage.
Around 50 persons were reportedly on the bus.
While little is known about what could have led to the bus driver losing control of the vehicle and subsequently plunging off the flyover; the coach hit several vehicles before smashing through a parapet and toppling down a steep slope, BBC reported.
Ansa.it is claiming that the cause of the accident could have been a blowout in one of the front tires, which led into the coach smashing into a number of cars .
The driver of the coach is said to be among the dead, BBC reported.
At the moment the number of victims is expected to increase with still more persons being brought out of the coach.
