Young woman hospitalized

A young woman has been hospitalized after she was involved in an accident in St. Paul's Bay. She was accidentally hit by a vehicle, a Toyota IQ that was being driven in the direction of Mosta. The accident happened next to the traffic lights situated few meters away from Azzopardi Fish Shop. The Police were alerted of the accident and had to intervene to control the traffic. An ambulance from the Mosta Health Centre was sent on the scene of the accident and accompanied the woman to Mater Dei Hospital. Updated with Police official statement: A teenager was hit by a car today, August 9, 2013, at about 4.15 p.m., in Mosta Street St Paul’s Bay. Preliminary investigations showed that the 15-year-old English girl was crossing the street when she was hit by vehicle of make Toyota IQ being driven by a 36-year-old woman residing in Għargħur. The teenager was hospitalised and certified to be suffering injuries of grievous nature.
