13 a-side in five a-side football pitch in Qormi

Have you ever played in an overcrowded football pitch ? This morning a group of 26 amateur football players have pulled up their football socks and tried to establish a new record that to play 13 a side in a 5 a side football pitch with the air to enter in the Malta record book. The game was controlled by ex FIFA Referre Alfred Micallef who had a very difficult task to keep matter calm among the two teams and to keep log of all the goals scored. Although the game was not a competitive game both teams wanted at all costs to win this game in this first ever record event played in Malta. The two teams were formed by a mixture of Police force officers and members from the youth section of the Musical society San Gorg Marti. The 3 hour long game was played at the 5 a side football pitch within the Qormi Hockey Club. The final result was that of 18-12 in favour of the Qormi youths.
