Arriva Malta

Ministry for Transport has issued a statement saying that Arriva has requested an extension to the 48-hour time limit which had been given to it for submitting reactions to the technical report on the three bendy buses which caught fire recently. Government said that it expects the reactions to the report are submitted as soon as possible given that next week, an Arriva High Official is set to arrive in Malta. The Ministry said that it has also passed on to Arriva, a copy of Transport Malta’s report on the issue; this report, said Government is independent of that compiled by the technical experts. Government said that the bendy buses will remain suspended and the changes to the bus routes will remain on track. The ministry said that in the meantime, discussions are under way with the Ministry of Education and the Chairman of Transport Malta to ensure that there will be no hitches in the service provided to schools when these open in the coming days.
