Ex Prime Minister and till now leader of the Nationalist Party Dr Lawrence Gonzi has revealed that he had received thousand of text messages from former PN MP Franco Debono throughout the past legislature.
This was stated by Dr Gonzi himself during an interview which was featured in today's edition of The Sunday Times.
In one instance an sms was sent to Dr Gonzi late at night when he was attending a crucial EU summit when he was negotiating crucial things for the country. Dr Gonzi explained that in that particular evening Dr Debono wanted at all costs to speak with him and had hinted that his request to speak to him was urgent. Dr Gonzi did not go in detail about the request.
The PN leader said that these sms's were received at all hours of the day and night.
During the interview Dr Gonzi revealed for the first time that he was seriously considering resigning from MP and eventually give up on his Parliamentary seat. "By doing so the people in the new administration can have the freedom to criticise his past internal decisions" he explained.
