Dr Camilleri explains that following an urgent request, the ECHR issued the prohibition notice binding the Maltese Government. A number of persons, mostly NGO representatives and volunteers are currently holding a protest outside the Police headquarters, calling for the Prime Minister to re-consider the decision to send the migrants back to Libya. The volunteers made intentions clear to block buses carrying migrants from leaving. A chartered airplane is reportedly already on standby at the Malta International Airport, set to take the migrants to Libya at around midnight.
