Updated: Suspected financial abuses at Marsascala Family Park

According to the report, a number of direct orders made prior to the official opening of the park increased by the said amount in favour of the seller. Minister for Environment, Leo Brincat outlined plans to look into the report, and subsequently submit proposals in Parliament in order to address such shortcomings. The Management Efficiency Unit, conducting the study said that the funds could have been abused of purposely or by negligence.   PN brandish Family Park report as ‘contradictory’ Nationalist Party (PN) rebutted the Family Park report, brandishing it as ‘’contradictory’’. Furthermore, Minister for the Environment, Leo Brincat, insists on ‘’attacking PN rather than looking forward’’, PN said. In reaction to claims made by Minister Brincat, PN issued a statement; regarding the direct orders and variations, PN said that these were ‘all approved’ by the competent authorities. The Minister initially claimed that the gas emanating from the park was dangerous, and now is trying to blame the previous administration. PN said that the Minister’s tactic on postponing the opening of the Family Park is effecting people negatively, and that as a Minister he should shoulder responsibility and act upon them.
